RADAR 2027 has gone big early - Arcane Roots, Volumes and Unprocessed join Mick Gordon
RADAR Festival has finally given us a proper look at its 2027 line-up - and if anyone was wondering whether the move to Magna might change what makes RADAR feel like RADAR, this should answer that fairly quickly.
Mick Gordon is still sitting right at the top of the poster, bringing the music of DOOM to the stage with a full band and orchestra in a world-first performance.
But now he has company. Quite a lot of it.
RADAR Festival has revealed its first major line-up announcement for 2027, joining previously announced headliner Mick Gordon.
Arcane Roots are joining the bill as special guests, alongside Volumes, Unprocessed, Textures, Vower, Conjurer, Allt, Avralize, The Algorithm, Karmanjakah, XO Armor, REVNOIR, TheBoyShadow, Leeched, Every Hell, Cold Night For Alligators, Brightshade, Worn Out and more.
In other words, RADAR is once again putting together a line-up that doesn’t sit neatly in one genre. We love to see it.
Arcane Roots finally make it to RADAR
Arcane Roots are one of the biggest names sitting underneath Gordon on the new poster.
The band returned to live activity in 2026 after a lengthy hiatus, and now appear directly beneath Gordon as special guests for RADAR's first year at Magna.
And there are some very familiar names further down the bill.
Volumes return after stepping in at RADAR 2026, while Unprocessed are back at a festival they've already built plenty of history with.
Vower and Conjurer are returning RADAR names too, while Textures are heading to the festival for the first time as part of their return to live activity.
Then you've got the likes of Allt, Avralize, Karmanjakah, REVNOIR and Cold Night For Alligators filling out a bill that already feels unmistakably RADAR.
Basically, if your taste in heavy music involves complicated riffs, strange noises, questionable time signatures or explaining to your mates that “technically, it's not djent,” you're probably going to be fine.
The Algorithm are doing something a little different
One of the more unusual additions is The Algorithm, who will perform with original drummer Mike Malyan, also known for his work with Monuments.
It's another booking that feels very RADAR - not necessarily something you'll find appearing on every festival poster next summer, but exactly the sort of performance that gives people another reason to make the trip to Magna.
And there's still plenty more to come.
RADAR has a pub now, apparently
Because announcing another batch of bands wasn't enough, there's something else lurking at the bottom of the poster.
RADAR is introducing its own festival pub for 2027, called The Geezer's Arms.
And who's taking over the place?
Pintglass.
Of course they are.
The band will be taking over the pub at Magna, which sounds either like an inspired bit of festival programming or the beginning of an elaborate health and safety incident.
Possibly both.
RADAR starts a new chapter at Magna
RADAR 2027 will be the festival’s first edition at Magna, the former Templeborough steelworks in Rotherham.
The festival runs from 30 July to 1 August 2027.
And this still isn't the finished poster.
Mick Gordon remains the only announced headliner so far, meaning two more headliners are still to come, along with more additions further down the bill.
For the first proper look at RADAR 2027, though, there's already plenty here to get excited about.
Magna might be a new home, but the line-up suggests RADAR has every intention of still being RADAR.
