Dutch melodic death metal band The Heritance are back with their first new music since 2018, and they're not wasting any time getting heavy.

Eight years is a long time to keep a metal band quiet. But Dutch outfit The Heritance have finally broken their silence with Fear of Collision, a new single that marks the beginning of their next chapter.

Mixing melodic death metal with crushing grooves, the band promise plenty of fast riffs, blistering solos and blast beats on their latest release.

It's also our first taste of Ominous Order of the Infidel, their forthcoming full-length album, currently scheduled for release in 2027.

A new chapter for The Heritance

Although it's been a while since we've heard new material, The Heritance aren't exactly newcomers.

The band features musicians with experience in Deluzion, Devious, Caedere, Toxocara and INRI. They released their debut album, Focus in Reliquum, in 2015, followed by the Routine to Decline EP in 2017.

For Fear of Collision, they've also brought in some familiar names from the Dutch metal scene.

Henri Sattler of God Dethroned handled mixing and mastering, while Jörg Uken recorded the drums at Soundlodge Studio.

And there's more to come beyond the new album. The band are planning live appearances across Europe, including a UK run and an appearance at Nordhorn Deathfest.

If you like your melodic death metal with plenty of groove, The Heritance are worth putting on your radar.
