There’s a very human story behind the demons on TRIVAN’s latest artwork. Crowned with Dread and Power is about finding the strength to carry on after grief, without pretending the scars have disappeared.

Released on the 25th of September 2026, the single continues the story of Abyss of Crawling Shadows. In their Bandcamp release notes, the band connect this chapter with rebuilding after loss. There’s an unexpected detail, too - the arrival of a new dog, Baal, a Cane Corso, became part of that fresh start.

“The song is about carrying the scars, mastering the demons and moving forward stronger,” they explain.

For anyone meeting TRIVAN for the first time, the independent black metal band come from Zagreb, Croatia. They formed in 2018, with guitarist and songwriter Vanja Šantak and bassist Ivan Bertović starting the project alongside a school friend on drums.

For TRIVAN, darkness isn’t their aim. The band describe it as a starting point for confronting difficult truths and finding a way forward. Questioning authority and thinking for yourself are central to that outlook.
