Want deathcore with more death metal? Crown Magnetar made this one for you

If the death in deathcore is the bit you wish bands would push harder, Crown Magnetar might have just made your next album.

The Colorado band have released their third full-length, The Hollowing Of Godflesh, and this time they’re digging even deeper into the brutal death metal that helped shape their sound.

Think Suffocation, Dying Fetus, Putridity, Brodequin and Defeated Sanity crashing into the deathcore foundations of bands like Thy Art Is Murder and I Declare War. In other words, this is not the record to put on when you fancy something gentle.

The Hollowing Of Godflesh is also the first Crown Magnetar album to feature guitarist Rob Maramonte, who has previously played with The Zenith Passage and Fallujah and filled in live for Thy Art Is Murder and All Shall Perish.

There are ten tracks on the album, but if you want to find out quickly whether this level of heaviness is for you, the title track is a very good place to start.

Watch “The Hollowing Of Godflesh” below.

Like what you hear? You won’t have to wait long to hear Crown Magnetar in the flesh either. They’re heading over with Archspire, The Zenith Passage and Analepsy later this month for five UK shows:

26 October - London, Electric Ballroom
27 October - Manchester, Academy 2
28 October - Glasgow, Slay
30 October - Birmingham, O2 Academy2
31 October - Bristol, Electric Bristol
